TSA: 1 Logic: 0

24 Feb, 2008

I was the subject of a luggage inspection during a flight to Philadelphia today. The TSA representative opened my suitcase, unzipped my dopp kit and informed me that some of my personal belongings needed to be placed inside a plastic bag. Yes, I forgot my baggy.

Toiletries in and out of a plastic baggie

Does the baggy make my fellow travelers and me safer? Can someone please explain why my toothpaste, hair gunk and shaving cream are more secure within the baggy? While this extra layer of plastic may guard my dress shirts from an accidental spill, I’m not sure why defending the clothing in my suitcase has become a priority for the United States federal government.

On a related note, I will be learning more about the dark arts of search engine optimization and search engine marketing as it pertains to the Pharmaceutical industry this week. Stay tuned.
